Ban police from forcing animals into situations that can cause harm

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Animals are often seriously injured from being forced into situations that are unnatural to them, causing psychological stress and physical harm.
These out-dated traditions need to be changed, we have enough technology to not cause animals unnecessary harm and abuse now.
Because animal abuse is important

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We can see that you are concerned about how police use animals, but it’s not clear exactly what you want the Government to do about this. We can only accept petitions which make a clear request from action from the Government.

We have recently published the following petitions, which call on the Government to ban the use of police horses, either completely or for crowd control:

Ban the use of horses in the police force: Ban the use of horses in the police force

Ban the use of horses for crowd control: Ban the use of horses for crowd control

We could accept a petition about banning the use of all animals by the police, either completely or for certain circumstances, but it would need to be clear exactly what you wanted this ban to look like, including whether it would apply to all animals, and the specific circumstances it would apply.
