Authorise the use of water cannon by the police and fund their acquisition

What the petition asks
Following recent protests, we believe that the Government should authorise the use of water cannons for the purpose of maintaining public order, and fund their acquisition by individual police forces.
In exceptional circumstances, where protests are getting out of hand, the Government should make a change in the law to allow the authorities to deploy water cannons to deal with violent unrest.
