What the petition asks
Considering recent protests and the removal of monuments in Britain and around the world associated with historic slavery and oppression, it is vital that the government pressures the Italian government to remove the Colosseum which was built by 60,000 slaves between 70-80 AD.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can only accept petitions about things the UK Government or House of Commons is responsible for.
Removing or demolishing the Colosseum would be a matter for the Italian authorities and the owners, not the UK Government or House of Commons.
