Replace memorials of slave traders with memorials to the slaves they exploited

Statues, schools, hospitals and universities all host the names of slave traders who supposedly funded them - we ask that it is recognised that it was the slaves who were forced to work under them who funded these institutions, and deserve this nations recognition, not the scourge of slavery.

Decisions about individual historical monuments, statues, plaques and street names are a matter for the local authority in which they are located and private landowners, not the UK Government or Parliament.

If you want to raise concerns about a particular historical monument or statue you should contact your local authority about this.
