What the petition asks
We need to stop the degradation of British history. There are many petitions being circulated that aim to undermine the teaching of British history and culture and this must stop; otherwise future generations will no longer aspire to be as great as our countless, world renowned pioneers.
We need the government to promote a sense of unity within the communities across Britain and unite everyone with a sense of national pride and spirit; not promote a sense of indefinite shame.
There are endless reasons why all people who identify themselves as British can and should feel proud of their place in society; regardless of ethnicity.

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
You ask for British history not to be "downgraded" but you don't specify what form you feel this is taking, or which particular actions you want the Government to take to address your concerns.
You may instead like to sign the following petition which calls for a review of the teaching of British history: Review the National Curriculum for history & include the Holocaust as a subject.
