Expedite the compensation of the Windrush Scandal victims.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

This petition intends to put pressure on the British government to fully compensate the victims of the Windrush Scandal. We demand that the Prime Minister and Home Secretary answer why only 4.7% of claimants have received compensation and ask them to expedite the recompense for the other victims.
60 out of 1,275+ people have received compensation a year after the launch of the compensation scheme. The victims have spent years filling in forms to prove they are British and now have to do the same to get the money they deserve. This process must be immediately expedited, so the victims of this tragedy can begin to heal. Victims who have suffered false imprisonment, deprivation of human rights, traumatic stress, loss of income/housing and homelessness with little or nothing to show for it.
