Make Black History mandatory learning in schools.

What the petition asks
Add black history to school's curriculum. Add books by black authors about race to required reading lists. Educate students on not just the statistics of slavery, but the social repercussions that entailed. Make sure students understand white privilege and how it affects white and black people.
Ignorance births racism. Our country has a long and cruel history of treating black people as less than, and we owe it to our black friends, family and colleagues to educate ourselves and each other so that racial ignorance can end. We have mistreated black people for too long, and educating our young people on race history, white privilege and race today is a great stride to take in fighting racism in the UK.
