What the petition asks

The Union Jack flag represents the UK.

It must be made a criminal offence to remove, deface or damage it in any way.

And furthermore, it must a right of every UK citizen to show, fly or display the Union Jack on their own property or in public without permission being required.
To preserve, protect and promote our national flag.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

You may wish to sign this petition calling for the same action: Make it a specific offence to desecrate national flags, symbols and monuments
