Automatically deport foreign criminals who receive a prison sentence.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

If an immigrant to this country commits a crime that warrants a prison sentence, they should automatically be deported on completion of that sentence without right of appeal.
We have enough home grown criminals in this country without adding to them. Anyone who moves here and commits a crime that warrants a prison sentence is spitting in the face of our country and its acceptance and tolerance. These people have proved they're not willing to obey our laws and do not deserve to be allowed to stay in our country to our own detriment. If people knew they would definitely be deported if they commit a crime, it would also act as a deterrent to crime.

Why it was rejected

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.

The Home Secretary must already make a deportation order in respect of a foreign criminal unless certain exceptions apply (e.g. where deportation would contravene the UK’s obligations under the Refugee and Human Rights Conventions).
