Stop the 33% downgrade of 2020 A level and GCSE results

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

A-level and GCSE results will be handed out in August this year, with results based on work so far. Each school has someone to sign this off. The Government Dept has decided to reduce those grades by up to 33%. We need to stop this from happening
No school is going to set a child up for something they cannot achieve. Uni places already hang in the balance. Genuine A* students with top university offers face not getting their firmed place, this is the rest of their lives being played. This is the life they have worked hard for and deserve.
All students with conditional offers have their futures at risk, this is wrong... bright kids, deserving kids, hard-working kids having their futures ripped away.

Why it was rejected

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.

Since you started your petition the Government has announced that GCSE and A-level students will receive their centre assessment grades: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/gcse-and-a-level-students-to-receive-centre-assessment-grades

Prior to this announcement being made, we had published the following petitions, calling for similar actions to your request:
