Allow a house to be on the market 1 week before investors can purchase

What the petition asks
First time buyers are in for a rocky time at the moment and should be allowed the opportunity to see potential future homes on the market, before they are brought by investors. So many people I know are looking to purchase their own home and I'm sure feel the same!
I believe there should be a 1 week period where all houses on the market are available for people intending to live in them only. After that period investors should then have the opportunity to purchase. We don't want to live in generation rent, and sometimes new build schemes just don't work to suit everyone.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government aren't responsible for the issue you raise. It would be a decision for individual sellers to prioritise first time buyers when selling their property.
We could accept a petition calling for funding for schemes to help first time buyers, if this is something you would like to see happen.
