Reintroduce patients receiving NHS inpatient treatment, the right to visitors

What the petition asks
Patients are going through intensive cancer treatments. Pre covid, loved ones were allowed to visit and given PPE. Now being denied and kept in isolation for weeks. Loved ones care 24/7 for the patients at home and during Covid. Worst, no transparency on the level of care being received.
NHS Trusts are not following Government guidelines. PHE stated 5/6/20, blanket bans have been lifted; allowing visits with the correct guidance + PPE. No visits are traumatic and the Human Rights Act, Article 8- Rights to Family Life has been denied.
Patients are dealing with life changing cancer diagnoses and expected to undergo intensive treatment themselves, staying for more >4 weeks with no loved one to be with them.
No updates from clinicians to the next of kin adds further distress.

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
It is a clinical decision for NHS trusts and individual hospitals whether visitors can be accommodated in a way which meets Government guidance and protects patient safety, in line with advice from NHS England.
