What the petition asks

Conversion therapy is a dangerous and discredited practices that falsely claim to change a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity or expression. Such practices have been rejected by every mainstream medical and mental health organization.

The UK Government has still not banned Conversion therapy after Theresa May pledged to “eradicate it”. Conversion therapy can cause a great deal of psychological distress”, with feelings of isolation and low self esteem. Many who undergo conversion therapy end up with long-term mental health problems: anxiety, depression, self-image issues, and in many cases incidences of self harm and suicide. Please read on the Human Rights camping website the damage that Conversion therapy can cause.
