We would like a Men and equalities minister.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

We would like a men and equalities minister so that men feel their is a voice for them, to shout their corner and raise their issues just like the womens equality minister.
If men had someone there it would drive down suicide and mental health knowing there is someone to talk to.
The voluntary services are not equipped to deal with the modern day problems men have in society today.
We feel we need equality by having a voice on an equal playing field just like the women and equalities minister provides.
Men do not feel they are fairly treated within many processes ie .
Family court
Pregnancy
Child maintenance
prison service
Abortions
It is in the best interests for the children of the uk going forward for their dad to have just as much rights as their mum.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We can’t accept your petition because it appears to be based on a misunderstanding of the current ministerial portfolio. The Minister for Women and Equalities has responsibility for developing an equalities policy that it is based on individual autonomy and dignity, and promoting equality of opportunity for everyone. The Minister does not have a particular role in relation to policy issues affecting women.

You could start a petition calling for the Government to take action to address specific policy issues that affect men, such as those you outline in your petition.
