Petition · past parliament

Allow people with PAYE earnings for 2019-2020 to claim from HMRC under CJRS.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Employees can be denied CJRS without reason or recourse as implementation is at the discretion of employers. There is no appeal, no checks on the validity of rejections and no hope for any other support. Benefits are not even close in comparison to the CJRS.
ExcludedUK estimate 3 million people are denied support. The government claims doing further is complicated or open to fraud. SEISS systems can be repurposed and HMRC hold full PAYE submission/furlough data which mitigates these arguments. Reliance on employers results in discrimination, establishing a two tier society. Those that receive 80% of their pay and those that are told that benefits are an equivalent or acceptable alternative - if they even qualify for them.
