Require police to tell family and cohabitants of child sex abuse offences
Closed
380 signatures
What the petition asks
Make it a law that the police must inform family members and cohabitants of any child sex abuse offences by their family, partners or cohabitants.
At present someone can be convicted of child sex abuse offences but once released or on bail they can start new families or relationships with people who might have children and may have no idea of their past. The Government should ensure that people in this position are told about past offences by the police.
