Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

Lower rates for small businesses in City Centres substantially.
Help growth in cities in the UK. Helping small businesses save lives.
Free city parking for up to 2 hours.
Government or Parliament to force these measures on City Councils.
Help growth in cities in the UK. Helping small businesses save lives.
Encourage city centre growth. Lowering business rates by 50% for small businesses. Free parking for up to 2 hours. These measures would encourage growth. Councils then would gather some income rather than empty cites (no income) Not to pass planning permission for out of town shopping centres for 10 years to allow Cities to regenerate the retail portfolio. Large companies may leave Cities as there is less need for offices.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

You may wish to sign this petition which calls for the same action: Extend grants immediately to small businesses outside of SBRR

The UK Government is not responsible for local planning decisions. These are a matter for local authorities. Local authorities are also responsible for car parking charges, along with private providers.
