MAINTAIN THE BAN ON GENDER SELECTIVE ABORTIONS
Rejected
11 signatures
What the petition asks
We the undersigned call upon HM Government to maintain the existing ban on gender selective abortions and tighten penalties for anybody convicted of breaking them.
It is discriminatory and demographically dangerous to alter the gender balance of a society through selective gender abortions.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. There are no proposals from the UK Government or Parliament to end the prohibition on sex-selective abortion.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to change.
