Make revenge porn a sexual offence

What the petition asks
The current law criminalising revenge porn leaves victims vulnerable. Although it's a sexually motivated crime, it is not considered a sex offence and victims are not granted anonymity, nor are perpetrators properly punished.
In the UK revenge porn is not a sex offence, so victims are not granted anonymity and are left vulnerable. Perpetrators should be on the sex offenders list, as this is a sexually motivated crime that leaves victims with mental health issues such as PTSD and suicidal thoughts. As a result, low conviction rates with minimal sentences prevent victims from coming forwards (Bates, 2015). This must change.
