We ask the PM to bring Military Pensions in line with other front line services.

What the petition asks

For decades the Military Pension has been lagging far behind other front line services such as the Police and Firefighters, yet whenever their is a crises who do the Government turn to, the Military because they know that the Military is a cheap option for a crises, and are used without overtime.
In recent times the Military have been used for strike action from other front line services because unlike the other front line services the Military have no union to turn to with greviences, l remember the days of the firemans strike, the refuge strike and ambulance strikes but we did the jobs and saved the government in those times, yet our pensions are way behind those of other front line services it is surely only fair that the government brings Military pensions in line with other services

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do to equalise the pensions. The Armed Forces Pension Scheme, unlike other schemes, does not require a contribution from the pension holder - we're not sure whether you want this to change, or what increase you'd like to see in the pension amount payable.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
