What the petition asks
I am a british citizen since birth and 50% Yemeni, 25% Jamaican and 25% English.
Most of my childhood I struggled with my identity not knowing my background and 'what i was'.
Completing forms I've felt like an alien having to tick "any other mixed background".
I want to change this for everyone

I want to change this for everyone
I want there to be an option to obtain a unique code to ethnicity on the gov website.
The majority of people who are mixed race are asked the "what are you" question in everyday life and i have never replied Im an other
The system will have a code for each ethnicity so you can tick what you are and it generates a code.
The old way in collecting ethnicity wouldn't change, but instead of there being OTHER (alien) boxes it will say at the end "if you know your ethnicity code please enter it here".

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The Government is not responsible for how independent organisations request or record information on ethnicity.
