UK government to impose sanctions on Poland for treatment of LGBTQ+

What the petition asks
Impose sanctions on Poland for their human rights record towards the LGBTQ+ and urge the EU to launch an investigation into Poland, as we cannot sit back and watch autocrats oppress minorities across our continent.
Poland, particularly the President, has proven that it is not suited to be a friend to the U.K. with their abhorrent vilification of the LGBTQ+ community. We have now left the EU, so this is the perfect time to use our newly found independent status to send a clear message to Poland by imposing sanctions on them for their treatment of minorities but specifically the LGBTQ+ community.
We cannot do business with nations with oppressive and abusive regimes, and with a President who declares war on a non-existent LGBTQ+ ideology and linking LGBTQ+ people to paedophilia. We impose sanctions on Russia for similar things, so why is Poland any different?
