Petition · past parliament

Give unpaid carers the recognition and financial reward they so justly deserve.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

To fully discuss the plight many carers find themselves in, through the lack of financial help and to give full recognition to unpaid carers through the media
Since 1976, when Carers Allowance was introduced, it has been paid at a percentage of long term contributory benefits, yet the value carers save the economy amounts to £Billions each year. Other than Carers Allowance there has been no additional financial benefits for carers, the results of the 2016 "Call for Evidence" is still to be published and the 2018-2020 Carers Action plan failed to provide and financial help. With the extra pressure of Covid 19, unpaid carers have simply been let down.
