What the petition asks
Mental health teams should be doing reviews on 18s and under in schools to look for underlying mental health conditions before they become too problematic for the person affected or those around them. Two check ups during primary school, two check ups in secondary, one in college and one in university.
This can help with: Noticing physiological child abuse, unhealthy home environments and bullying. It also helps with noticing the start of conditions before they get sevear impacting quality of life.It would give 18s and under the tools to correctly manage negative emotions which would help in reducing teen suicide and self harm rates and teen violence. It would aid in breaking stereotypes on mental health while helping young people access help.Early intervention could saves lives in so many ways.
