What the petition asks
Establish a Biometric ID system to assist with: Accurate/timely identification of an individual. Access to state provision of services.
Assists in ease of travel within the UK, additional info e.g. driving licences, medical alerts, N.I. number, DBS, donor opt out, next of kin contact (ICE).

This should also assist the UK Govt to protect its citizens from risks associated with terrorism, organised crime, monitoring sex offenders, illegal immigration, modern slavery, reduce abuse by requiring ID for all hospital/social care visits.
Prove right of access, e.g. schools, maternity units, secure facilities.
The UK Govt should establish robust safeguarding laws, and UK citizens should be required to prove identity at the legal request of an authorised civil servant.
