What the petition asks
Make it a legal requirement for retailers and online suppliers to clearly state a products country of manufacture or origin
To give the consumer more information about what they are purchasing. To give purchasers an idea of the size of the products 'carbon footprint', if the country of origin has ethical employment laws and fair trade policies. To give UK consumers the opportunity to make informed decisions on whether to support the home economy or put their pound notes into supporting corrupt countries with appalling human rights records.
