What the petition asks
The government hold a public inquiry into Russian interference in the 2016 EU referendum
The ISC's "Russia report" concluded the government has "not seen or sought evidence of successful interference in UK democratic processes." This was despite "credible open source commentary suggesting that Russia undertook influence campaigns in relation to the Scottish independence referendum in 2014" and studies documenting its efforts in using social media bots to influence the 2016 EU referendum. The ISC therefore recommend the UK Intelligence Community produce an inquiry into this subject.
