Stop the addition of calories to menues in U.K. restaurants

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

The government recently announced their plan to add the calorie count of meals to menues in restaurants, this can be extremely detrimental and should be prevented.
It’s estimated up to 3 million people in the U.K. suffer from eating disorders - adding calories to menues in hope of ‘decreasing obesity’ will only be of detriment to eating disorder sufferers, and others too. Calorie counting is a practice not encourage by dieticians, and should not be encouraged by the government. A more healthy alternative may be to help reduce the cost of nutritional foods.
