Impose a blanket ban on deep sea mining

What the petition asks
Impose a blanket ban on all deep sea mining by the UK, to ensure our country has no part to play in exploiting our oceans.
Deep sea mining has the potential to cause untold damage and potential destruction to pristine, undisturbed eco-systems.
The physical reality of drilling will lead to vast plumes of thick sediment being released over fragile and beautiful eco-systems while these same eco-systems would endure noise pollution which could affect sea animals’ ability to communicate with each other.
