Grant permanent residency to survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery

Closed 805 signatures

What the petition asks

This petition has been started by survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery, who believe every survivor should have the right to permanent residency after it is confirmed they are a victim of modern slavery.
We welcome the offer of residency to Hong Kong nationals, but #WhatAboutOurStatus?

Each year, around 2,000 people are confirmed as victims of modern slavery. The offer of residency to Hong Kong nationals could cover 3 million people. This is equivalent to 1,500 years of confirmed slavery survivors.

Despite the Government's promise to protect survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery, many are kept in limbo for years awaiting decisions on their case, with the fear of being deported. Many feel insecure, isolated and unsafe.

Support the right to a secure future.
