Army Support for our police.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

For far too long tour police have been abused, ridiculed and generally prevented from doing doing their jobs.
Whoever would have thought a time would come when police got on their knee, in front of people who were causing a disturbance and causing trouble for other people in a public place.
The time has come to support the police with the Army.
The Reserve or Regular army, they can be there to assist police in maintaining law and order on the streets of our towns and city's.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not responsible for.

Maintaining public order is the responsibility of the police, not the military. The Government has said that the Ministry of Defence is working with a range of partners across Government, including the National Police Chiefs Council and the Home Office, to understand how it can best support the Government’s response to the outbreak. It would be an operational decision for the police whether to request assistance.
