What the petition asks
To permit up to 27 guests to attend church weddings and remove their face coverings while observing social distancing rules.
To reconsider the requirement for all except the bride and groom to wear masks during church weddings. This sends confusing messages about what is important in society.

People are allowed to sit in pubs, restaurants and hotels without masks, but 27 wedding guests cannot sit facing forward in dispersed household groups for a short church service without singing without wearing face coverings.
Covid19 is very serious but it is unfair, farcical and devastating for couples and their loved ones not to be able to see each other's faces during the most important ceremony of their lives. It also suggests the Government does not value the institution of marriage.
