Keep gyms open instead of pubs if lockdown measures need to be reimposed

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

The possibility of a second wave Covid 19 outbreak is looming and the government may need to re-introduce some lockdown measures. We dont want the government to automatically shut down gyms again along with pubs, restaurants and shops, but to consider the proven benefits of gyms to public health.
Gyms are run by health and fitness professionals and used by people who take an active interest in their health and wellbeing. As a result the Covid safety measures implemented in gyms are thorough and effective.
Gym users are motivated to take care of their health so adherence to safety measures is very high.
The great health and well being benefits of any type of exercise are well documented and gyms provide the facilities and supportive communities to motivate people to exercise regularly
