husbands / boyfriends should be allowed to attend appointments at hospitals

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

To allow all husbands / boyfriends to be able to attend hospital appointments during the pregnancy’s of their wife’s / girlfriend’s while Covid is upon use As there is no definite stop of the Disease Nor is there a guarantee
it’s a really stressful time and it’s not always great news That is received during pregnancy scans and appointments also wifes / girlfriends need support In times like these plus first time fathers an mother’s also it Could be a once in a life time experience

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Decisions about who can attend scans are a matter for the NHS, not the UK Government or House of Commons.

On 5 June, the NHS’s suspension of hospital visiting was lifted. This means that visiting is now subject to local discretion by trusts and other NHS bodies. You should check with your maternity team and sonography unit for their policy on visitors attending antenatal appointments, including scans.
