Allow spouses/partners into baby scans/maternal appointments

What the petition asks
Allow partners/spouses or at least one family member into a maternal appointment/progression scan.
After seeing a poor lady announce that her unborn child had died when she had a scan, sadly she was on her own as she was not allowed anyone in with her. Having being given this news she had to process all of it on her own. I and many others think it’s ridiculous how people can gather in groups in a pub etc but a woman cannot take a partner/spouse or family member into an appointment Incase any news like that occurs.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Individual hospitals and clinics, not the UK Government or House of Commons, decide who can attend scans and antenatal appointments.
You should check with your maternity team and sonography unit for their policy on who can attend antenatal appointments, including scans.
