Extend rights to Paid Statutory Bereavement Leave

What the petition asks
I would like UK Government to pass legislation creating a right to Paid Statutory Bereavement Leave following the death of any dependants, including parents.
Currently there is only statutory bereavement pay and leave - for two weeks - for parents whose child dies under the age of 18, or certain cases of losing a pregnancy.
Employees can take time off to deal with an emergency involving a dependent, but this does not have to be paid and is insufficient for bereaved family members.
The UK Government needs to implement a paid statutory bereavement policy in order that families can mourn and heal after loss, without added financial stress.
