Child Maintenance Service should Charge Self employed parents the same as PAYE.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Self employed parents have no action taken against them when they miss weekly child maintenance payments or when there is a debt, additionally funds are not being taken direct. Self employed parents are also paying incorrect, lower weekly amounts. Action needs to be taken to prevent this continuing.
Parents lose child maintenance payments each week, because the paying parent is self employed. The child maintenance team advise that the law prevents them from taking any action apart from court action because, they are self employed. The HMRC should be working alongside the child maintenance service to ensure self employed parents are paying the correct weekly amount to their child and any debts should be taken from the paying parents annual rebate. Why are these parents legally not paying.
