Stop child maintenance payments being classed as a none deductible income.
Rejected
11 signatures
What the petition asks
Reclassify child maintenance payments as a deductible income so the parent receiving the child maintenance payment can either have the payments or the benefits but not both as it currently is.
This current situation is firstly unfair on all tax payers who have to foot the bill for the parent receiving the benefits along with child maintenance payments. The receiving parent should not be able to receive both.
Secondly, the parent paying the CM money, are over 90% males that have mostly not absconded but, desperately want to see their children are treated unfairly because their payments are not means tested. This means that no matter what outgoings they have it is not considered.
