Send aid to Mauritius to help clear the oil spill.

What the petition asks
The UK has experienced oil spills in the past and know the catastrophic effects that it can cause to the biodiversity of native wildlife. Resources within Mauritius to clear an oil spill of this size are limited and, therefore, aiding the country to clear the spill is essential.
From our history of oil spills, such as the Torrey Canyon disaster in 1967 spilling 119,000 tonnes of crude oil, we are able to provide expertise, equipment and solutions to the communities who are working to contain and clear the oil spill. This is needed to be done sooner rather than later due to the disastrous effects it can cause on the environment as well as the country’s economy that strongly relies on tourism, due to its pristine coasts.
