Scrap the second home allowance/expenses for ALL MPs.

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

MPs are doing work for the state and therefore the state should provide accommodation in a centralised secure location. Managed and owned by the state.
This eliminates the possibility of erroneous expense claims for second homes and their upkeep. The UK tax payer does not loose money when second homes are sold for profit after funding for their second home improvements and renovations.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
