Halve the tuition fees university students pay this year

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

Many universities, including my own, are putting lectures online until January 2021. I believe it is unfair we are expected to pay £9,250 when we will spend our first semester indoors, not at university. I would like the government to halve our tuition fees over the next year to £4,625.
MPs are being given a pay rise this year while the rest of us, students and NHS workers suffer as a result. Nurses are being underpaid and students like me are still expected to owe the government thousands when their pay is substantial already.
