Rejected 19 signatures

What the petition asks

Back date the stamp duty land tax change, announced on 8 July 2020, to the date the housing market reopened (13 May 2020)
On 13 May 2020 the housing market reopened and individuals were encouraged to proceed with transactions as a measure to reinvigorate the economy.

On 8 July 2020, the temporary stamp duty land tax change was made impacting all property transactions in the window 8 July 2020 - 31 March 2021.

The lockdown has impacted all, but none more so than those who heeded the advice on housing and completed in the window 13 May 2020 - 8 July 2020 (many under personal / financial pressures to complete).
