Stop letting agents charging unjust 'Pet rent' and create a 'Pet deposit scheme'

What the petition asks
To stop agents charging 'Pet rent' and to create a 'Pet deposit' scheme, so that agents and landlords don't use the immoral and unfair loop hole to charge pet owners up to £50 per pet, per month in non refundable rent.
It is already extremely difficult for those with pets to find landlords that will accept our pets whom are our family members, and for those that would, we were more than happy to pay a slightly higher deposit, however since the law on taking higher deposits changed, agents have found a loop hold in unfairly charging us more rent.
We now pay up to £50 per pet, pet month! That's a huge
£600 a year, which they do not return, in 5 years thats £3,000 for a pet that will likely not cause any damage.
