Put Closed Circuit TV in all Parks and public spaces

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

The Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government.
It is self evident, from the many repeated lawless activities on our streets and parks, that law and order has begun to break down. The Police appear, through over PC regulations, unable, or unwilling to become involved.
It is therefore crucially essential to have the ability to record criminal activities where they occur. Recent fatal events at Parks have shown how vulnerable these areas have become. This must be addressed immediately by the introduction of CCTV to all Council Parks.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise.

This is a matter for the local authority or for landowners.

You could raise your issue with a local councillor who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them:
https://www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors

You could start a petition calling for the Government to provide councils with funding for more CCTV, if that's what you'd like to see happen.
