Fully re-open the Office for National Insurance Immediately

Closed 139 signatures

What the petition asks

The Office for National Insurance was closed due to Covid for a number of months. As a result, very few applications for NI numbers can be made and those made prior to the office's closure are stuck in limbo. Fully re-open this office to allow all those who need an NI number to obtain one.
This comes about as my Irish fiancée is looking to come to the UK to live, work and marry; as a mental health professional, you would think they would be required at this time. It is impossible for many to obtain an NI number however whilst this office is providing such limited service. This affects all applicants from other countries, and can bar them from working and paying the right amount of tax and will result in a backlog of rebates in the future.
