Exemption for ex-military and 4x4 HGVs from requiring new tyres

What the petition asks
The government has announced it is bringing in a law to enforce that all HGVs have tyres less than ten years old on the steering axles. We ask that there to be an exemption for 4x4 and ex-military non-commercial enthusiasts' vehicles even though they don't fall into the classic vehicle age.
For many of these vehicles, tyres are no longer easily obtainable and are extremely expensive. The cost of a new set of tyres would exceed the value of many of these vehicles significantly affecting both the market value and preventing owners out of being able to use and enjoy their recreational vehicles. This will have significant ramifications for enthusiast and owners clubs and well as individual owners.
