What the petition asks
Permanently abolish the TV license for all.
The TV license is no longer necessary as there are many alternative forms of revenue open to BBC which weren't available in 1948 when the license was introduced, i.e. joint ventures with other organisations, [britbox and UKTV] sales of programmes and other products round the world and signal encryption to prevent non fee payers using their services. It also discriminates agains the poorest people in society,, the elderly, disabled and very low paid, being forced to pay could cause hardship.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
