Raise tax threshold for the over 65s

What the petition asks
To help UK Pensioners we want the UK government to raise the tax threshold/personal allowance to a reasonable £25,000 This would help bring thousands of pensioners out of poverty.
A pensioner in the UK who has contributed to either a workplace pension or a personal pension will pay tax on it, if combined with the state pension it is over the currant tax threshold of £9,500. This is a ludicrous situation in these hard times, and compared to other leading nations is derisory.
