Replace the statues of slavers with heroes of the Special Operations Executive
Rejected
10 signatures
What the petition asks
There has been much controversy over the removal of statues depicting slave traders and accusations of 'erasing history'. If we replace them with the men and women of the Special Operations Executive, we can celebrate national heroes who deserve remembrance.
To create a taskforce to complete research and raise funds for the erection of these statues.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Decisions about individual statues would be for the relevant authority for the land they are placed on, not the UK Government or Parliament.
