Relax Government guidance on care home visits during Covid-19

Closed 723 signatures

What the petition asks

Ease guidelines on the restrictions for visiting family & friends in care homes. Introduce alternative measures that allow contact with residents. E.g. TRUST family to keep the people they love safe by allowing them into their bubble, so take them out of the home. Save the mental health of 1000s
The serious impact on health caused by this isolation is happening NOW to our most vulnerable. Stringent "Guidelines" means vulnerable loved ones are left isolated and alone. Carers are also struggling to cope without the help from volunteers and families. In the meantime, people outside, including the elderly, are slowly and sensibly learning to live life with increasing freedom. We need to think creatively, as they did in WW1&2, to give our loved ones dignity and love! It can be done!
